Proof in progress

Not long after I left engineering, a triptych I’d painted won the Abstract Horizons exhibition, my first real recognition since betting everything on art. But the doubt didn’t disappear with the win. I’d been underestimated before, in engineering, and I found myself underestimated again as a new artist with no track record. The engineering pages in this piece are buried beneath the surface, only visible where I’ve scraped the paint back, credentials still there, just harder to see until you look closely.
