The space between

There’s a place at the horizon where the earth doesn’t end and the sky doesn’t begin. They simply meet. That threshold is where these paintings live.

This series came out of one of the most honest periods of my life, stepping away from a 15 year engineering career in March 2026 to paint full time. Not because I had it figured out. But because art is where I feel truly alive.

Each painting in this series carries that in-between energy. The calm and the chaos. The weight of what’s behind and the pull of what’s ahead. Look closely and you’ll find pages from my old engineering textbooks embedded in the layers,  the foundation underneath, quietly holding everything together while something new grows on top.

‘The space between’ is all about stillness that comes just before everything changes. This painting lives in that moment, the quiet before the decision, the breath before the leap. Cool and layered, with things hidden beneath the surface waiting to emerge. I didn’t know what was coming. But something in me already knew it was time.
