Questions before you begin

What happens to my deposit?

It holds your place in my studio calendar and comes off the final price. It is non-refundable, but if you change your mind you can put it towards any painting on my website.

How long will it take?

Your painting takes 4 to 6 weeks once we have agreed on the size and story.

Can I ask for changes?

Yes. You can ask for up to three small changes while the painting is in progress, before I finish and varnish it.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. The 30-minute consultation is free, and there’s no obligation to go ahead.

Do you ship?

Yes, anywhere in the world. Your painting is packed by hand and shipped insured, and the cost is shown at checkout.

Do you paint for businesses?

Yes. I paint for homes, hotels, clinics and offices, and work with interior designers. Tell me about the space and the feeling you want, and I will quote for the size you need.

What do I need to share with you?

The more you tell me, the more personal your painting becomes. Think about the colours you love right now, the feeling you want the painting to bring into your room, and what it celebrates: a person, a pet, a milestone or a new chapter. Send any photos you’d like me to work from, and a photo of the wall it will hang on.

What can you paint for me?

Almost anything that matters to you: portraits, pets, wildlife, places, flowers or an abstract built from a memory or a feeling. If you can describe it, we can talk about it.

Will I see my painting before it’s finished?

Yes. I’ll send you progress photos two or three times while I paint, so you can watch it come together and ask for any small changes before I finish.

Why does it take 4 to 6 weeks?

Oil and mixed media need time. After I finish painting, it needs about a week to dry and around two weeks for varnishing, so it’s protected and ready to hang. All of that is included in the 4 to 6 weeks.

What’s included?

Your original painting arrives signed, varnished and ready to hang, with a certificate of authenticity.

How do I get my painting?

Whatever suits you. If you’re near Melbourne, you can collect it from my studio or I can deliver it to you myself. Otherwise I’ll pack it by hand and ship it insured, anywhere in the world.

Who owns the painting, and can it be printed?

The original painting is yours to keep and enjoy. I keep the copyright, which means only I can make prints or reproductions of it. If you’d like to use the image for something like a book cover or a product, just ask me first.

What if I change my mind before you start?

Your deposit is non-refundable, but it’s never lost. You can put it towards any painting on my website.
